Who Needs a Diet?

Welcome to my attempt at figuring out how to live a healthy life, while not giving up things I truly love to do and eat!

A Weekend of Good Eats!

Yesterday when Ky finally got up, I was STARVING and had a little snack before we headed out:
So good, and again, VERY GOOD FOR YOU!

For lunch, Kyle and I hit up Hank's Tavern and Eats, which is known for it's killer sandwiches and unique side items. Basically the sandwiches come solo, and then you pay extra for a side; home made BBQ chips, onion rings, spinach, etc.

I wasn't too hungry after my snack, and wanted a salad. However, this is one of those places where the salads are way overpriced (probably to compensate for the fact that people don't come here for salads!). I instead go the soft chicken tacos:

They were stuffed with grilled chicken, peppers and onions, tomatoes, and lots of quac:

They were really good! I ate the filling of all three, and left the tortillas. Kyle got the buffalo burger and a side of homemade BBQ fries:

Those chips were HUGE, and I had about 4 of them. Yum! And I only drank water.

After lunch we headed over to dogsit for a colleague of Kyle's. Meet Tougadoo

and Sancho:

Crazy pups. After letting them out and playing for a while, we ran some errands and then picked up some pizza for dinner from Armand's, a local chain. It was a Chicago-style deep dish place, so I was happy to have lots of crust (I HATE thin crust!) We got a large with peppers, onions, mushroom, sausage, and pepperoni, plus a greek salad:

My plate:

And I had more pizza along with some Killian's during the DUKE game. I was VERY happy with how it went :-)

This morning we packed up and headed to Silver Spring for lunch, a place we had not been to before. The Copper Canyon Grill. It was VERY pricy for lunch; which we should have gathered before it was too late. After so little greenery in the my diet, I wanted a salad so I got the Ahi Tuna salad:

The the sesame crusted seared tuna was very good, the spicy skillet corn bread was good. The rest was, eh. The menu said it would come topped with cherry tomatoes, there was only two on my plate. The chipotle dressing was nice, but it drenched my salad, taking away any nutritional value from the greens. I hardly ever order entree salads in restaurants; I need to remember to order dressing ON THE SIDE, otherwise it becomes a huge caloric mess.

Now I am at home, about to write an exam, while sipping on a venti coffee. Enjoy your Sunday more than I will!
