Who Needs a Diet?

Welcome to my attempt at figuring out how to live a healthy life, while not giving up things I truly love to do and eat!

Saturday, Oooh, Oooh!

It has been quite a boring day for me as I can't get around too easily! After our breakfast, I retired to the bedroom to read/doze for the rest of the afternoon seeing as I couldn't do anything more exciting.

I am not in a ton of pain, except for when I move it (duh). It's a little swollen on my inner ankle, and I have been icing it off an on all day. Some good news... I can rotate it more than I could last night, which is a good sign!

The only real bummer is that I probably can't have many cardio based work-outs for a while... sure part of me is okay with not sweating it out as often as I have been. But, I was really starting to get a in flow with working out 4-5x a week and really don't want to lose that! Cross your fingers that A) I recover quickly and correctly, and B) that I can get back into the swing of things! I don't want this project to be a bust in the first week!

At about 4:00, Kyle and I broke into the last of the TJ's pita chips and cajun krab dip from Shoppers. Yes, "krab" with a "k." It's artificial, and it's probably pretty bad for you, but it sure tastes good!

I had about 5-6 pita chips and about 2 tbsp of the dip.

There was also a mid-afternoon grande coffee that I forgot to snap. It was black coffee from starbucks, and I added my own packet of splenda to it.

Sadly, no Chinese for me tonight! Ky didn't want me to push it too much by walking anywhere, so we opted to order in from the Thai place right down the street, Chef Secret. It's one of the best non-chain restaurants we have in College Park, and I have yet to be disappointed by it!

To start we split the Autumn rolls. They are deep-fried sushi rolls filled with salmon and seaweed. Absolutely fabulous! We always have to get them when we go! I really like them because even though they are deep fried, they are not oily and greasy.

The only downside is that when you get them in-house they also come with really light wasabi cream sause for dipping, as well as a carrot and cabbage salad.

For my entree I got the Veggie Delight and added Chicken.

Pros: there wasn't TOO much chicken in it and the veggies were steamed instead of sauteed.

Cons: The brown sauce had almost NO taste to it. I actually drizzled the remains of the plum sauce from the autumn rolls on top to help it out.

I ate all of this, and about 1/2 of my brown rice (less than a cup). I was STARVING since it was 6:30 and we had not eaten since 11 or so!

Kyle got an awesome DVD of a U2 concert from 1997 in Mexico City, so the plan for tonight is to watch that and sip on some Murphy-Goode Liar's Dice Zin!!

Have a great Saturday night!!
